The situation is a bit more complex than that and you can really say that any one side is to take 100% of the blame. Different countries and different media sources are focusing on different aspects of the protests and pointing fingers. There’s been a long history of tension between Western Ukraine (nationalists) and Eastern Ukraine (closer to Russia) and recent events were just a trigger. Point being, the whole situation is horrible but no one side is not completely at fault,
